In the United States, there is a now second front against lockdowns, from the left. Together with fellow Harvard infectious disease epidemiologist @wkyih, I was interviewed by @NicoleAschoff in @jacobinmag, a progressive left magazine. Please RT.https://jacobinmag.com/2020/09/covid-19-pandemic-economy-us-response-inequality …

I'm stunned Jacobin interviewed you. They're either going to be dogpiled on the left or there's a big switch coming.

My guess is a big shift on the progressive left over the next few months.

Hopefully, but a hell of a 180 to make this close to an election. My god!

I’ve been screaming into the void for months on this. Crickets. But yes, expect progressives to shift before #RESIST 🌊 Dems who reflexively oppose anything supported by Trump (“OPEN THE SCHOOLS!!” was a deathknell and now even schools in ultra-low prevalence areas can’t open)

Please! I'm left & to date haven't been able to get any in my circle to digest *anything* to do w/ the harm of lockdown (or herd immunity) b/c they won't read any 'right' publication or listen to anyone on the right, & left media not reporting truthfully.

As a physician and a quant, I have been ridiculed by colleagues, feared for my job, had grant applications (to build an ILM with stochastic simulation) denied by my institution because of my evidence-based beliefs on this topic. It has been stressful, baffling, and unethical.
