Contact tracing, testing and isolation is important against many infectious disease outbreaks, such as Ebola and post-vaccine measles. It is ineffective, naïve and counter-productive against COVID19, influenza, pre-vaccine measles, etc, and by definition, against any pandemic.

These arguments are exactly the steps that Madrid has been following in this second wave. Not in the good way, but...Now, they have reached their hospital capacity, so...it seems it’s not working very well for a high density populated zone.

I am trying to learn and undertand. To clarify, Madrid has NOT used contact tracing ( same reasoning as Dr. Kulldorff's assumptions) or HAS used contact tracing but to no effect? Kindly clarify. Again, I am here to learn.
