#Lockdown USA has more cumulative and current #COVID19 deaths per million than no-lockdown Sweden, despite Sweden's older higher-risk population. We need to play it safe and implement an age-targeted strategy that will protect the old and minimize collateral damage.pic.twitter.com/FoapZMmW2K

I am pro Sweden strategy but you should take into consideration the number of people in the US with obesity and diabetes to make a fair analysis.

Just because they are older I wouldn't assume they are more vulnerable

And from a person who has a BMI of over 40, being overweight clearly does not help. If you are fit enough to exercise, you should do. Exercise is preferable to lockdown. Don't close gyms, swimming pools etc.

Yeah, but the only reason the US' early per capita deaths were lower than Sweden was *because* the southern/western areas hadn't been hit yet, thus driving down the US' avg. Comps of the NE US to Sweden, even today, show much higher per capita deaths in the NE.

Completely agree. Also wish to add that I do not trust the USA “death by COVID” statistics. They are counting very loosely in terms of attributing causation.
