Naïve/dangerous to think all COVID deaths can be prevented. Such strategies increase deaths. We minimize deaths with age-targeted strategy advocated by @SWAtlasHoover and infectious disease epidemiologists like @SunetraGupta @sdbaral @RebeccaChandle1 & mehttps://twitter.com/RealSaavedra/status/1306763697772085250 …

Biden claims Trump is responsible for every single person who has died from COVID-19: "If the president had done his job, had done his job from the beginning, all the people would still be alive. This has been a difficult time to think critically, broadly and with nuance. Age-stratified mitigation is a reasonable, rational strategy to reduce #totalharms. Thank you for your focus on data and your courage to speak beyond prevailing bias.

I think people are sadly unaware of the mandate of Public Health Offices. Perhaps this education could be a first step. Tragic this has been politicised. Our collective children will suffer the long term consequences.

I am totally on board. But how do we convince the powers that be of this? It seems like we need a lot of pressure from all sides to make them finally start to pay attention. Scott Atlas is there but is anyone listening? I was hopeful we'd see some action by now...

Hi John. Having defended the COVID strategy in my native Sweden, with a socialist government, I must be politically schizophrenic. If they do write such a letter, maybe my infectious disease colleagues will write a letter like this in my defense:https://www.stanforddaily.com/2020/09/16/letter-to-the-editor-scott-atlas-and-lockdowns/ …

Well all I can say is that I hope that if he gets elected no one dies from COVID on his watch! By his standards he will have to answer for those deaths.
