No. There are many things we could do much better to protect older high-risk citizens. Frequent testing of nursing home staff and visitors is one example, among many.

Granted we have an obligation to provide good healthcare to everyone. Yet, it would seem that even if you got rid of COVID the life expectancy of this population would not change much since it is already above the average.
