So how many people do you think will die if we pursue herd immunity? How many more than if we, oh I don't know, don't do this?
Thanks for asking. All strategies lead to herd immunity, so unclear which strategy you refer to. No respectible epidemiologist will predict the number of dead. Depends on still unknown parameters. Mortality is minimized with an age-specific strategy that protects the old.
