Martin Kulldorff Retweeted Dr Kathleen Bachynski

So, with increasing evidence favoring Sweden's age-based strategy, those of us who used knowledge of disease outbreaks to consistently advocate for it cannot be trusted, but the non-epidemiologist who dismissed it are "doing science". The world has truly turned upside down.https://twitter.com/bachyns/status/1290442021589651456 …

    Martin Kulldorff added,

Advice from @CT_Bergstrom "The people you can't trust are the ones who have not changed their views and advice, despite having enormously more evidence. The ones who are changing their views & advice, based on evidence, are the ones who are doing science" https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-to-evaluate-covid-19-news-without-freaking-out1/ …

Isn’t that a great way to discredit people who were right from the beginning? “Anyone who didn’t change their mind...is definitely wrong.” Can’t beat it!

My advice to Dr Bachynski: "That exact quote perfectly describes Bergstrom himself. The biggest bullsh-tters in the world are the people who proclaim to be the biggest bullsh-t detectors. That is their ruse. Be most wary of those who actually write books about it...."

Not to mention, if any scientist used the phrase "doing science" with a straight face, I would run from that scientist. "Doing science" is making a vinegar-baking soda volcano for a project in 3rd grade.

You're an excellent communicator and do so with humility and respect -- I've always appreciated my Nordic colleagues in this regard -- and I hope the U.S. public will hear more from you about children and schools.

My world turned upside down in 2009 in the swine flu response. A year later when we had a debrief about it at a local conference, I said we needed to properly reflect so that it wouldn't be similarly chaotic next time. No reflection happened. And history repeated, only worse.

Far worse. The horrible person is they tried to do just what they did now in 2009 and it didn’t quite work. But they succeeded this time and it’s horrible.

New age doublespeak masquerading as science. The guy claims he is an expert on disinformation, when, in fact, he is a disinformation personified.
