The key is that the Swedish rates are not only going down, but that they are going down while gradually opening society. That leaves increasing immunity as the likely explanation.

The summer holiday probably keeps new cases low. There was never a lockdown in Sweden, same restrictions most of the time. I am worried though for a new surge in a month. Immunity is very difficult to assess. In Spain which was hit very hard new cases are now increasing fast.
