Schools are hot zones for transmission of other respiratory viruses, why would SARS-CoV-2 be any different? I think the lack of proper studies on the issue should not be taken as proof that this virus would have some magical ability that don't make it spread in schools.

Sweden never closed day-care/primary schools during the pandemic. Compared to all other profession, the relative risk of
#COVID19 was 0.9 (95% CI 0.7-1.1) for day-care teachers and 1.1 (95% CI 0.9-1.3) for primary school teachers. So, not a hot zone. https://folkhalsomyndigheten.se/contentassets/c1b78bffbfde4a7899eb0d8ffdb57b09/covid-19-school-aged-children.pdf … - Show replies

There are moves in the UK to force school children to wear masks in September as well.

Do you think there might be any difference in a country with more active cases per million than these other countries being used as an example?

Does the virus ever fully clear or do people have it for life? There have been cases of people testing positive after months of negative tests. I've seen the theory that they are still clearing the virus. Does it ever fully clear or is there reinfection? Is reinfection worse?

Besides the French high school study https://medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.18.20071134v1 …, high rates of infection were recorded in 7th-9th graders in an Israeli school https://eurosurveillance.org/content/10.2807/1560-7917.ES.2020.25.29.2001352 …, and in secondary school students in Chile https://academic.oup.com/cid/article/do

Following school openings in Leicester, the greatest increase in % positive tests was in children, pp. 21-22 in https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/897128/COVID-19_activity_Leicester_Final-report_010720_v3.pdf …, suggesting disproportionate increases in children.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. From the curves it looks like the Leicester surge originated in working age adults, before reaching, more mildly, children and the elderly. But, hard to say without more details.
