The key evidence of an effective #COVID19 strategy is steadily decreasing death counts while gradually removing social distancing and other restrictive counter measures. We are seeing this in Sweden. Any other country, state or region?

Right now I would suggest that the summer holidays increase social distancing. I am worried about schools starting in a month and people using public transport in the big cities. No push yet for face coverings in Sweden.

Switzerland did, but from fear of small increase in cases lately, authorities suddenly made it mandatory to wear masks in public transports and some Canton in shops as well. (we never wore masks during the peak of the epidemic...)

We've not really had any official easing of measures here in Sweden, except for the very lax travel restrictions, the measures are meant to be long term.

More restrictions have been removed in Norway and Denmark, with steadily decreasing death counts.

The numbers for Denmark and Norway have been low for quite some time. Cases are now increasing in Denmark, but hard to draw conclusions. Norway is still flat. https://www.ssi.dk/aktuelt/nyheder/2020/2020_7_covid-19_uge23-29 …

Still don't think we're at the end of this story, but worth watching data & continuing to learn, and trying to avoid harsh judgment of any place at this point. My Swedish family has had a very different experience vs. the portrayal of nationwide disaster by most news outlets.

Can I interview you? I’m a citizen-journalist in the Bay Area who’s interested in good science, non-partisanship, and an alternative POV to lockdown strategies and tactics. Interview by email is good by me. Interested?

Sweden did a terrible job compared to its neighbors.
