I'm so sick of this "Well, this is a health and safety issue, so why should teachers be consulted?" BS. It implies that school is just a babysitter for you to drop your kids off at. Effectively educating our youth is the whole purpose of school. CONSULT EDUCATORS!

You were using Sweden as an example of keeping schools open while now you're admitting they have higher per capita death rate than the US. You realize that's a bad thing, right?
Hi Kris. No, on the contrary. Despite a wide-spread outbreak, zero school children died in Sweden. Children are not fueling the epidemic. Focus should be on protecting the high-risk elderly, where Stockholm messed-up, although not as badly as England or New York.
