All arguing about "herd immunity"; yes, if majority of the population develop immunity by natural exposure, it might be beneficial for society. But it too easy sounds like "the weak must die for the greater good"—it is a dangerous path for societied to go down.

This discussion only makes sense in light of a choice. What is the alternative to heard immunity, and what is the cost of this alternative path, e.g. for the weak that you aim to protect?

I do not claim to have any easy answers. Sustained lockdown until a vaccine appears? Of course, there are other costs, that also can have severe negative outcomes to take into account. In that equation, we must not forget that it is always about people.

Bara en månads karantän verkar mycket effektivt i grannländerna. Inte så farligt.

Och det finns flera effektiva läkemedel mot covid-19 om några månader.

To protect the weak and vulnerable until herd immunity is reached, and to minimize total deaths, counter measures should be age specific.https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/covid-19-counter-measures-should-age-specific-martin-kulldorff/ …

But that seems not to be succesful to protect the weak and vulnerable. The biggest problem with "herd immunity" strategy is that it is only hypothesis. Lack of evidence.

It is naive and dangerous to think of herd immunity as a "strategy". Herd immunity is a scientific fact. The key is to minimize deaths until we get there, and that is done through age specific counter measures, to protect the weak and vulnerable.

          Replying to @living_sweden @MartinKulldorff and

Herd immunity to covid-19 requires 60% of people infected and 15% of fatality late in elderly people. Three years. That costs more than locking down.
