One can but hope... While T20 takes over the known universe (for good or ill), England's attempt to launch a new, muddled version is looking increasingly silly and isolated - particularly as we invented T20 in the first place!

Lots of chat behind the scenes right now about English domestic cricket, but one scenario - outlined here - is that the men’s Hundred becomes a T20 tournament, with possible involvement from the National (formerly Minor) Counties dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/
With Israel ruled by an extreme right government advancing annexation, Von der Leyen delivers an uncritically flattering message, ignoring Palestinian rights and employing the trope that "Israel made the desert bloom", erasing Palestinian history. 1/2

Look, I know it’s a little thing in the grand scheme, but — ⁦every ⁩ pharmacy now offers recycling points for medicine blister packs, which otherwise end up in landfill in their millions. Bag them up, take them in every month or two. Easy. Pls RT/spread the word.

Dry cleaning? Just how posh is your office?
Quote Tweet
After 3 years of WFH, all these people being forced back into the office are calculating the cost of going to an office- something we never thought about before. Dry cleaning, dog walking, paying for parking at work, etc. The literal cost of going to work.
While we know news avoidance is on the rise, I have an unscientific hypothesis that it's also becoming more socially acceptable to not watch/read/listen to the news. (Whether that's good or bad is another thing). Thoughts?

I’m afraid you’ve misread my tweet. I’m highly critical of investment in *new* nuclear and have consistently been. However, shutting down *existing* nuclear plants in a way that leads to increases in ghgs is no cause for celebration.
Quote Tweet
I see the global warming deniers, fossil fuel fanatics, and nuclear bros are out in force lying about why we need more of the energy that got us into this mess. Let's be clear, fossil fuels and nuclear are being squeezed out because they're dangerous, unreliable, and expensive.

This is the reality of factory farming . And it’s not just in Texas it’s here in the UK too . We just don’t see it because most of us don’t see farming face to face - just packaged food in supermarkets . It’s time to wake up - farming has to change

How many people out there are giving wildflowers a chance by leaving areas of their gardens uncut this year? Please RT if you are offering a lifeline to pollinators like bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies and bats by mowing less 🐝

What’s particularly weird about it is it is actually a more effective attack if you don’t try and ascribe a malign intent that simply isn’t there on the government’s part. The attack works better as just another example where the government has simply failed on its own terms.

One of the many disappointing things about that Labour ad is that the criminal justice system (along with the NHS, the trains, the rivers, the schools, etc, etc) is absolutely broken and yet the Opposition still can’t find a truly effective way to land that message.
