I was just at @RepDerekKilmer town hall. He refused to sign on to Medicare for All saying he wanted people to he able to keep their choices with healthcare. He ALSO said he didn't want anyone to become sick because they were poor. Well...
He has to choose one or the other. Because as an individual who has had state medical for most of my life, I have HORROR stories connected to my medical treatment from doctors because I did not have fancy insurance. Let's just focus on one. Why I am sick because I am poor.
I also have many stories tied to my physical health, so again, let's just focus on ONE. I went to the doctor some time ago and told him I thought I had Lyme disease. He did not want to listen to me. He ordered several tests, none of them for Lyme, and sent me on my way.
They all came back negative. When he finally ordered a test for Lyme, it had become chronic. State medical would only cover two rounds of doxycycline. When that didn't cure me, they told me there was nothing else they could do for me. That I would just have to live with Lyme.

With a Universal Healthcare system, this would not be an issue. Doctors would treat their patients with equal care and patients would have the ability to take medicines no matter how rich or poor they are.
So. @RepDerekKilmer , the ball is in your court. You can either admit that you don't care if your poor constituents are treated worse than your rich constituents, or you can sign onto Universal Healthcare and level the playing field.
