@MarshallProj I'm a data science student, what do you think is the most interesting criminal justice data to explore right now?

@MarshallProj@emschuch the@eff’s ALPR data from Oakland also looks like it’d be fun to dig into: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2015/01/what-we-learned-oakland-raw-alpr-data … -
@ultracasual@MarshallProj@emschuch Also@chitowncoders Cook County Jail scraper is still running see http://26thycalifornia.recoveredfactory.net/ -
@ultracasual@MarshallProj@emschuch Could really use some analysis -- I moved away before we could start doing the meaty stuff. -
@ultracasual@MarshallProj@emschuch Like how many times an inmate moves, analysis of court appearances, etc. -
@ultracasual@MarshallProj@emschuch The data is dirty as hell but afaik it's still the only public data about the country's largest jail. -
@eads@ultracasual@MarshallProj very interesting. i should mention that my project has to involve predictions from a log regression model. -
@emschuch with that data, you could try to predict stay length, # of court dates, # of moves from charges, race, other categorical factors. -
@eads thanks, will check out the data!

@MarshallProj@emschuch the NACJD is a good resource for research data, usually from the DoJ, as it’s released: http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/NACJD/studies?archive=NACJD&recency=QUARTER&sortBy=5 …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
