Really seems like cruel and unusual punishment. SCOTUS says that sex offenders can't be executed, so instead we do everything we can to make their lives feel not worth living. Very sad.

I hear ya. It's easy to hate sex offenders, especially those with child victims. But, they're still human beings.

They are... and in many cases they are unable to be rehabilitated. It’s a scary thing. I get the fear. Not leper’s because most leper’s did not chose their condition.

I totally get the need to keep sex offenders away from potential victims. But, we have really crossed the line from protecting society to just making life impossible for offenders.

Kids are everywhere. The vulnerable are everywhere. Where would you have them go?

Most people who offend against children do so in the midst of a trusting relationship. So, it's not like just being in the neighborhood with kids creates a huge danger. I have no problem with readily accissible databases to help parents prevent their children from developing...

...relationships with known offenders. The vast majority of sexual assaults against children are perpetrated by people who have never been convicted of a sex crime. I.e., the most dangerous predators are the ones who've never been caught.
