These professions do not carry a gun as part of their duties. Why is police officers not required to carry professional liability insurance as a prerequisite of being hired and keeping their job. This alone will remove and keep a large percentage from working in law enforcement

Even if the department let's them slide the policy carrier is a completely seperate entity and can actually punish them more severely and can come to the conclusion to raise their premiums or drop their policy, and without the policy they can't work

Insurance companies do not want to pay out anything over stupidity or corruption so they will be tough as hell and they have better legal departments as well and better investigators.
