When left to their own devices auto manufacturers will NEVER do the responsible thing. Period. Pull your head out!
Auto manufacturers in my district constantly tell me that we need realistic fuel economy standards, and we need harmonization of standards. If fuel economy policies force auto manufacturers to produce vehicles that customers do not want or cannot afford to buy, no one wins.

I’m willing to bet it’s not the auto manufacturers in your district- Nissan meets emission standards in other countries and leads in electric vehicles. It’s your science-denying, Obama-hating base you’re playing to.

Better fuel economy makes auto companies more competitive, reduces harmful emissions and saves consumers fuel expenses. Please educate yourself instead of pandering to corporate donors.
