This week the Senate is commemorating the passage of the 19th Amendment! Tennessee played a unique role in the women’s suffrage movement - our state was the 36th and final state needed to ratify the Amendment.

There were 35 states that got to that point faster than Tennessee. This is like celebrating coming in 36th at a race. Don't get me wrong -- I'm not against the 19th amendment in any way, shape or form.
