Find your people. They make college what it is. College goes by way to fast to waste it on people that you aren't crazy about. Find those people that will challenge you, love you and fight for you and it will make your college experience.

@MarquetteU do you offer remedial English classes for my friend? Proud Golden Eagle Alum -

You go to college, especially a school like Marquette, for the education. But you better yourself by meeting its people. Say hello. Hold doors. Be open to the idea that everyone you come into contact in at this place – this place that will become home – is worthwhile.

It's not going to feel like home until you let it. In other words -- dive in. Sign up for that club, say hi to that stranger, raise your hand, keep your chin up. Watch it all unfold before you! But don't try to iron-press the creases of who you once were.

The first few weeks, month, even the first whole semester will be hard. It will not fall into place automatically. Stay positive, try new things, and don’t be afraid to be alone. Good things take time!

Don’t compare yourself to others. It’s easier said than done, but everyone’s path at Marquette is completely different. Don’t beat yourself up over one bad grade/not getting an internship. Use your failures as stepping stones and learn from them. It all works out in the end!

Wow thanks I feel better now

Don't worry about feeling alone and not making friends! Try and remember that everyone is new to Marquette as well and is looking to make friends. Always be yourself and seize every moment and opportunity you can!
