everyone who is involuntarily celibate for long periods is misogynist or dangerous to partners, and all deserve to have a supportive community, just preferably not one that encourages hostility, objectification, and violence as the ones using "incel" label now so.

That’s the thing. These selfish guys will hijack any label or term to make it about them. By letting them have the label, we let them recruit. Unless we want to condemn every POTENTIAL terrorist (which might be many), it’s important not to condemn all incels/Muslims/evangelicals.

At this point, it's pretty clear that the term incel refers to a specific group & that's it's fair to have certain expectations about them. Those don't by any means apply to everyone who is involuntarily celibate, but if someone applies the "incel" label to themselves, reasonable

There are nearly 2 billion Muslims worldwide with a few major sects & several minor, a number of different cultural traditions & very few expectations valid for all. That's not true for the possibly tens of thousands now calling themselves "incel", which is rooted in misogyny.

I don't know these billions of 1000s of people. I just see you agree all incels are misogynist rapists, and presumably should be made illegal. I don't see how you're going to ban virginity

I don't think anyone said incels are rapists. That was a question i had too. They seem to wallow in their circumstances, even going in forums to validate their unworthiness. I also didn't see anyone wanting it to be illegal, but i may have missed it. Why does it make u so angry?

Rape is the implied violence once incels find girlfriends. But I guess you're trolling, since you really want to just say "lol u mad" because I think it's silly to bash all virgins, when unlike ideology it's not a choice

These incels generally don't find girlfriends, because of the red flags they put out, and rape is only one of the forms of gendered violence they may perpetrate. Recent concern is largely sparked by the

Or they don't find girlfriends because they're physically unattractive, or they once did date and have been burned, or life's unfortunate circumstances, or because they're genuinely insane. Are you an all knowing incel or is that just what your Chrystal ball told you?

Ppl who are involuntarily celibate *in general* have lots of reasons for being that way—physical disability, mental illness, lack of compatible mates, etc—but they're not the group we're talking about here who label themselves "incel" & promote violent misogynist ideology.
