Reason Number 3962 why I #ChooseOpenSource:
I upgraded to @GRASSGIS 7.8.1 (support for Python 3, PROJ 6, and GDAL 3) on my machine. I then noticed that the GRASS GUI wasn't running because it couldn't find the NewIdRef module that it was trying to call from the wxPython library.

I posted an issue on the issue tracker and within an hour,
@MarkusNeteler pointed me to the cause and solution to my problem. NewIdRef was only added in wxPython 4.0.3 and mine was 4.0.1. The fix was simple enough but just wasn't backported yet.1 reply 0 proslijeđenih tweetova 0 korisnika označava da im se sviđaPrikaži ovu nit -
I had two options to fix this: > fix the Python file on my machine as per the PR > wait for the GRASS GIS 7.8.2 release So I opened my trusty text editor and went ahead and edited GRASS' source code on my machine. Lo and behold, the GRASS GUI now works perfectly.

This is one of the beauties of
#OpenSource. I could've waited for the fix to be brought to me but I didn't have to. I had the freedom to edit the code and fix the issue myself. Plus I learned a thing or two along the way.#OpenSourceWorks#BNHR#BNHRMentality1 reply 0 proslijeđenih tweetova 3 korisnika označavaju da im se sviđaPrikaži ovu nit
