Listening to Tiffany Smiley heckle at tonight’s debate was a stark reminder that she is not committed to bipartisan solutions, she’s part of the MAGA mob trying to intimidate and shout down those who disagree. calmly stood up for solutions for struggling families!
I want to be crystal clear, this bill is dead on arrival. It will never pass into law. In Washington State, we love and support our trans community. Our focus will be to expand access to gender-affirming and community supports!
Quote Tweet
Washington State's first anti-trans bill has been filed by Representative Walsh.
It would ban gender affirming care for trans youth and make it a felony. It would forcibly detransition them by pulling them from medication.
Fight back even in blue states. They are pushing.

If you are trans and thinking of moving to a more accepting state, I made a video list of the top 5 states for trans people! I used a number of factors and feel free to plug your own state!
5 - Massachusetts
4 - Washington, D.C.
3 - Washington State
2 - Connecticut
1 - Colorado
Protect trans kids.
(In 2022, that shouldn’t be a controversial statement.)
Today I was proud to cosponsor universal #healthcare legislation for our state. This pandemic has shown us clearly that health care is a human right. #MedicareForAll
Today, I’m introducing legislation to ensure that no insurance company can deny medically necessary care for trans and gender diverse Washingtonians. One more step toward a just and equitable future for all our people. #transrights #TransLivesMatter #blackTRANSlivesmatter
While I’m not a Seattle voter and won’t have a vote for City Attorney, let me make one thing clear: Ann Davison is no moderate. I encourage voters to weigh this choice very carefully before putting a right-wing Republican in a such a critical role.
Tonight, my friends in the House joined in making history in our state. We have stood up to the forces of violence and division and we have acted boldly to protect our communities from gun violence. We still have more work to do, but tonight I’m grateful.
Honored to be unanimously re-elected as our Majority Floor Leader for two more years 🙏 I look forward to working with our new Lt. Governor and Republican & Democratic colleagues to navigate one of the most important sessions in our state’s history. Let’s get to work!
Adam Fortney should be recalled. Refusing to enforce a lawful emergency order to get publicity is reckless and puts all of our lives at risk. Listen to doctors and public health experts: #StayHomeStayHealthy! #WeGotThisWA
Such an honor to join climate champions Harris, , , and so many local heroes to celebrate the launch of the federal government’s electric school bus program! Our kiddos deserve cleaner air and safe rides, this is a win-win!
Keep in mind none of this is true. But the truth doesn’t attract listeners to extremist radio shows. When your business model requires you to demonize vulnerable and marginalized kids for market share, it’s time to find a new career path.

In case you wonder why we have a housing affordability crisis in this state, here’s another example. As hundreds are economically evicted from Edmonds every year, this councilmember suggests exempting cities within 15 miles of Puget Sound from any housing affordability? Madness.

There will be a lot of debate in the Senate today, so let me be crystal clear. We are voting for a capital gains tax on extraordinary profits over $250k a year. The funds will be invested in education and child care and taxpayer relief.
Yup, among others. City lobbyists fooled well-intentioned progressives into demanding mandatory levels of affordability that would effectively kill most TOD development. So we’ve replaced parking standards with mandatory affordability as the new poison pill of density. (1/2)

Oops, editors messed up the headline—fixed it! Every bill they cite has made it easier for workers to do their jobs safely, earn a fair wage, or raise their families with dignity. I guess it is shocking to some that elected leaders care about regular folks? 🤷♂️

Fact: The capital gains bill we are debating now will affect less than 1% of Washingtonians. Only the wealthiest few. This helps fix our upside down tax system and make sure everyone is paying for education and critical public services.

This year's bill does not describe when minors can access health care services, that is already in the law. The bill is focused on providing shelter and support services when a youth is seeking essential health care.

Your bill doesn't stipulate abuse or mistreatment to provide a runaway with "gender-affirming" health care without parental consent. They only need to run away from home to get the services. You're claiming to help kids, but you're helping break up families.
