What you said in this interview saddened me immensely, cause it sounds like our feelings on this mean nothing to you.

I'm a lesbian, and I get it. But, when someone is creating, you don't get to dictate the terms to them.
-
Nobody is dictating anything. Countless people simply analysed what is already there, and came to this conclusion.
-
Conclusion didn't align with the intention of the creators, so you readjust? I always assumed hetero and ace bffs?
-
But what is all the subtext implying then? Most of the show makes no sense if you don't read it like that...
-
Same gender people can love one another intensely and not be sexual, but that society tries to pigeonhole them?
-
What about the representation of LGBT+ characters? A slow burning romance between 2 men? Far too rare if you ask me
-
(2/2)But, let's respect the creators and ace people who may be excited to see characters they feel represent them.

was this one accurate as well?https://www.theguardian.com/film/2010/nov/07/mark-gatiss-sherlock-holmes …
-
No. Case in point. A garbled mistranslation of what I said.
-
Suuuure. Suddenly it's all mistranslation, but you never felt the need to clear that up.

You should really consider why so many fans feel so passionate about this topic. They've not made it up out of thin air...

So you find it infuriating that people come to this conclusion after analysing the subtext of your show?

I get that some fans have crossed the line multiple times. But we're not all like that, we hope for actual representation.

& there're lots of asexuals (like me) who are happy to finally get representation, even if it IS Sherlock's choice
-
Would be fantastic, but if S decides to marry Irene in the end it's okay too.So far noone said that_
-
_S indeed is asexual, but asking questions is more important than having answers anyway. The group_
-
_was practically nonexistent in media and public, so it's a progress. Still, there is no A in LGBT.
-
YES! We have almost no representation. I always loved ACD, bc I relate to the analytical asexual Sherlock
-
Until June14 I didn't even know there are others like me. And in Dec15 I saw Sherlock for the 1. time. It was quite a ride! :D
-
And I didn't know ACD and SH, beside the names, so I'm not that attached to canon. So to me Sherlock can marry in the end. ;D
-
There's no reason you can't fanfic it that way, though I'm sure they won't do that in the series because ACD didn't.
