This is the only country on Earth that tolerates a high level of fatalities of its precious children for the sake of protecting the gun rights of some crazy backwoods fruitcake. The world is watching us and saying, "why in God's name should we follow the American example?"

Why did you vote against regulating assault weapons in 2013? https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=113&session=1&vote=00101#top …
-
Because of his pal Harry Reid ... he controlled the purse strings
-
it's ridiculous
-
I would like to see the age limits raised on ownership for many of these weapons. That would help solve this mess, but not fix the root cause of it.
-
That would be better than nothing. I think we really need to look at magazine capacity and probably should stop selling AR-15's.
-
Capacity limits make sense. 10-12 rounds. Remember, we had AR-15s for 39 years before 1994 AWB. Never had this sort of craziness. Issue is deep.
-
true, but the NRA wasn't pushing it like crazy back then. It's now the most owned rifle in the country. I also am open to other things as well. Just need to make changes in several areas
-
Perhaps you and I could come up with a comprehensive solution ... which is what will never happen elsewhere.

No offense, but prayers are not working. As the good book says "faith without works is dead". We can't keep praying while doing nothing.

Big fan of yours, Senator, and a constituent. But there has to be more than prayers. For example, https://jellyfishreview.wordpress.com/2017/10/13/collective-nouns-for-humans-in-the-wild-by-kathy-fish/ … This short piece of poetry could be read on the floor. Or, maybe some sort of legislation like universal background checks...

Did you really vote AGAINST an assault weapons ban in '13? Very disappointing.

Yep. But you voted against the 2013 Assault Weapons Ban, so really how concerned are you Mr. Warner?

I would like to preemptively request that the NRA’s acolytes in Congress refrain from offering “thoughts and prayers” for the victims of the latest school shooting, unless your thoughts include common sense regulations to prevent this continuing carnage.

Remember that time in 2013 when you didn’t vote in support of a bill banning Assault Rifles and High Capacity Cartridges? More than thoughts and prayers are needed. Right now you’re no better (with just as much emptiness) as the
@NRA - you need their logo on your blazer. - 1 more reply
