This bill cuts red tape that’s holding back consumer and small-business lending. It also strengthens consumer protections, particularly for veterans, and leaves Dodd-Frank consumer safeguards intact.

Remember how mad we all were when millions of Americans had to pay out of pocket to freeze their credit following the
#EquifaxBreach? This bill guarantees one free credit freeze per year.Show this thread -
Importantly, we’re talking about small banks and credit unions — the ones who do the majority of lending to small businesses, especially in rural communities — not big Wall Street banks:https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-banks-lobbyists/big-u-s-banks-in-last-ditch-push-on-regulatory-relief-bill-idUSKBN1DU33P …

I’m looking forward to this morning’s hearing, and I'm proud of the bipartisan work by
@MikeCrapo,@SenatorTester,@SenatorHeitkamp,@SenDonnelly and a number of Senators on both sides of the aisle. This is how good legislation gets done.Show this thread

I'm very concerned that you and
@timkaine are catering to the demands of banks, not the citizens you claim to serve. This bill DOES weaken consumer protections by weakening bank stress tests, for example. I agree with@SenWarren that this bill does not help consumers.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@MikeCrapo Are you ever going to discuss meaningful penalties for banks like Wells Fargo that repeatedly overcharge or otherwise deceive their customers? Or is enforcement just not consistent with “free” markets (corporations are free to do whatever they want to people)? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

When I hear about bi partisan reform I know it’s not good thing, especially when you are involved assisting your payday loan donors. This is just an convenient excuse to cut regulation for the too big to fail banks.

Why don’t you tell your followers that you voted against Bernie’s tax bill amendment to prevent cuts on SS, Medicare and Medicaid?
