This was a wasted opportunity to do once-in-a-generation, bipartisan tax reform. Instead, Senate Republicans passed a partisan bill tonight that cuts taxes for wealthy on the backs of the middle class and leaves our children with $2.2 trillion in debt.

Why did you vote against Bernies Amendment? These are not entitlements...we worked hard for Social Security and Medicare!
-
I am sick of hearing them called enritlements. I pay about 7% for SS. My employee also contributes another roughly 7%, which is a factor in considering my pay.
-
Not to mention that every President for decades has moved money from it. Also that every immigrant pays into it and unless they gain citizenship, they can never claim it. Where does all that money go?

Why did you vote against Senator Sanders amendment to help prevent cuts to social security, Medicare, and Medicaid? I don’t understand and I’m very disappointed.
-
Because Warner works for the same Wall Street banks as the Republicans.

Thank you, senator. We appreciate the efforts the Democrats in congress have shown in standing up to this corrupt GOP. We applaud your unity, and look forward to retaking congress in 2018.
-
You're thanking him for voting against protection for Social Security and Medicare? No unity for that, sorry. I hope he gets shitcanned next election and will work hard to make that happen
-
Go for it. Your supporting Bernie and the GOP at the same time is hilarious.
-
I'm not supporting the GOP in any way. If you're suggesting that wanting a senator to represent me who doesn't support slashing SS and predatory payday lending is somehow Republican, you are confused. Having a D next to his name doesn't give him a pass to be so shitty
-
I didn't realize that Bernie had submitted an amendment (if the amendment had been accepted, would he have voted for the tax bill?). Also, I don't understand how that all works, how Dem senators could have voted against Bernie's amendmen. I'm confused.
-
No of course Bernie wouldn't have voted for the bill--he's been tirelessly campaigning against it. The amendment would just have prevented the Rs from cutting SS and Medicare when the deficit shoots up because of the scam bill. Yet 3 Dems voted against the amendment
-
Thanks for the explanation; I've been unavoidably away from the news lately. I agree with you that there's something wrong with Dems voting against protection for SS & Medicare. They'd better offer a really good explanation. So, that was Warner and who?
-
Sometimes a break from the news is good. :) Warner, Carper, and Durbin all voted no

You voted against an amendment that would've protected social investments you like to call "entitlements." That's disgraceful. How's Blackwater fairing? Are they going to donate as much as they did in the past to your next campaign?

Please explain to us why you did not support Sanders admendment regarding ss and medicare. I thought you were one of the good ones.
-
With a few possible exceptions, there are no good ones. They all work for the same Wall Street banks.

So sad
