        Wages will never go up. As long as a company can do more with fewer people for less money, that’s what they’ll do. The recession proved they could do without and that became the new business model.

        This also applies to small businesses like doctors offices who pay themselves first and then see what money is left over to pay for office expenditures and luxuries, then pay their staff if they’re lucky. Seen it.

        Seems like it often magically becomes record bonuses that somehow become absolutely necessary if the company is ever to attract the kind of talent that will work to get themselves more record bonuses.

        The point is that Republicans claim tax cuts for corporations and the very rich result in higher wages for their employees. This is a direct refutation of that.

        As an Accountant with 35 years of working in several different companies, I can tell you that companies do not give money saved from tax breaks, etc to their employees as pay increases or bonuses. It. Does. Not. Happen.

        Yes. We have learned this same lesson multiple times now (Regan & Bush '43 administrations). Yet, everytime the Republicans come into office, the cycle starts all over again.
