There is much at stake with President Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to fill the vacancy created by Justice Kennedy’s retirement.
-
-
I plan to carefully examine Judge Kavanaugh's record and judicial philosophy. I cannot and will not support a nominee who would take this country backwards by undermining our fundamental rights and American values.

This is the problem with our government. He is clearly qualified. 25 years ago 70% of Dems would have voted for him. This is why we need term limits!

Core values? Which ones, sir: sex is for entertainment? we don't need families any more? babies in the womb don't matter? no prayers in public or schools? no right to protect myself and my family? YOU manage what I earn through MY labor? YOU decide how I can use my property?
-
You can pray in public or in school, you just can't force anyone else to do so. You have every right to protect yourself. Turn off Fox News.
-
Please explain how a "valedictorian" referring to his religion cannot be the "valedictorian," or a football coach cannot kneel and pray before/after a game! What you really mean is, it's okay to pray as long as NO ONE LIKE YOU has to hear it!
-
2- And unfortunately, for us who believe in prayer and God, there's ALWAYS one of you in our midst!
-
A valedictorian and a coach are positions of authority. If the coach tried to lead a prayer to Allah or Shiva or Zeus would you be defending them? If the valedictorian wanted to stand up and say they were valedictorian because they were an atheist would you defend them?
-
YES to #1. And the valedictorian is not a position of authority; it's a recognition of scholastic achievement; and the coach didn't gather the players around him; he knelt and prayed by himself - and got punished for it! And Yes to #2, although I doubt this would ever happen!

Supreme Court justices are not “core values” judges! They interpret the laws (not make them—job of Congress) and the Constitution to determine if laws are constitutional.
