I wonder every day why Silicon Valley/Seattle hasn't stepped up. Then think of the questionable actions on the part of Facebook, Google..others..Or, maybe there just isn't the same financial incentive as there is from mining every drop of our data.

How so? Their tax cuts alone deliver them huge money. Their deregulations (net neutrality, for example) deliver them huge license to gouge consumers. And Facebook has proven to have platformed Cambridge Analytica for money (complicit).

I come from an era where, true or not, they at least behaved that way. I remember towards the end of the 1970's the shift was dramatic - where once businesses served you, now you were made to feel like you'd invoncenienced them by showing up. 1/

Even that long ago I remember thinking, "If we all just refused to put up with it they'd change or go out of business. Now it's rampant.

I dunno maybe you should ASK the Justice Dept why they agreed to this plea deal? Because it’s seems uncharacteristically lenient given she was facing decades in jail & millions in fines.https://twitter.com/spicyfiles/status/1009188697122725888?s=21 …

Seems to me that it’s possible Chinese owned Huawei & ZTE have a hand in this. Were their products sold to OPM employees like they were sold in military stores
curious who might have designed the OPM app

Would Assurance Wireless (Virgin) may have anything to do with this? They're one of the providers of the "free phone service." One brand of their phones is ZTE, of which the began providing about a yr ago. Requirement is to submit income tax returns.

Who "owns" these "free phone services?" Sprint. "S. Korean carrier SK Telecom has a 15.3% stake that it got when Virgin Mobile last year bought Helio..."https://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=8194310&page=1 …

But Donny didn't think we needed any Cyber Security. We all see it every day on Twitter. Russians, Chinese, and Korean. They're all here, and it gets worse every day.

He wanted to partner with Russia on cyber security after the election. Haven’t heard a word about it since then. Doesn’t anyone remember that?

Tillerson announced a State Dept initiative and signed agreement. Trump fired the WH IT security team: no staffing at all now.
