I guess it's possible that capitalism can find a way to reduce carbon emissions, but why HASN'T it?

How many journalists picked up on the sensational 2022 IPCC & IEA projections/calculations that point to industrial capitalism definitely having virtually no chance of avoiding world-ending 2/2.5°C of global warming by 2040 - 2060, but said nothing? How many simply don't know?🧵

The very fact that the establishment regards police brutality as a public relations challenge, with no sincere concern for the violence committed by police until/unless it makes national headlines, tells you all you need to know.

Look, I'm just some cis dude here, but I don't think "Is This Bad For The Democrats?" is a valid concern in a NYT article about how schools deal with trans kids. It's okay for things to be about what they're about! And not center political parties!

12 dirty little secrets of journalism. A thread: 1. When a reporter writes a warm human-interest story about a politician, it’s often an attempt to soften up the pol to get a better story later. Stories that make pols look good are known in the business as “beat sweeteners.”

Sus Cleveland is simply the public relations cheerleader for whoever happens to be Mayor of Cleveland at any given time. It has no programs and no concrete responsibilities.

In the @CityofCleveland , the @MayorBibb is developing a framework to build more housing near transit, fix sidewalks, and construct more bike lanes to make this 15-minute accessibility a reality. #SustainableCLE twitter.com/ClimateMayors/…

Hey how many stories have you aired about wage theft? More or fewer than about bar fights in other time zones?

The researchers found that there was not a single article about a multi-million dollar wage theft settlement paid out by Walgreens to its CA employees. (On January 5, 2022, a Walgreens executive admitted publicly that the company had overblown their claims about retail theft.)
