Meanwhile in-school learning has proven safe and effective. NY has failed its students.
Approximately 100,000 NYC students will be unable to shift to remote learning because they still do not have a remote learning device and reliable internet. After months of being in denial, City Hall ordered additional devices only recently and they still haven’t come in.

In the mayor, chancellor, and open at any cost folks defense, it’s not like they could see that the weather would change and the second wave would actually happen. NYC has a closed border, so internet access for underprivileged children wasn’t on their radar.

Ugh. There just doesn’t seem a great plan for these circumstances. Since March there should’ve been talk or what a remote learning environment will look like and start ordering devices then and creating discounted plans that would be paid through school funding.
