    Russia is the primary beneficiary of this. But worth noting that Gazprom warned, for years, that the EU would come to regret its (ideologically driven) "liberalisation" of the gas market, because it would lead to higher prices than when they were linked to the value of oil.

    Wholesale gas prices now nearly double what they were four weeks ago, and up over *550%* from this time one year ago. Wholesale gas prices account for 41% of the price consumers pay in their gas bill; there could be massive price increases on the way for heating and electricity.
