They say everyone rises to their own level of incompetence. Whoever ordered that prescribed burn to proceed in these dry, windy conditions has surely reached theirs.

Before laying blame I would like to understand the decision making process that resulted in this mess. Based on what we know now it boggles the mind. I simply cannot understand how this happened. I’d like to hear an explanation from the Forest Service.
