Manhattan is a borough of neighborhoods. The fight to protect them has never been more urgent. That's why I'm running for Borough President. Join me. Let’s build a Manhattan that works for ALL of us.

  4. No mom & pop store in this city should ever close simply because they can't afford an attorney to help w/ their lease or other challenges. Thank you for your support of our efforts to level the legal playing field for small businesses in NYC.

  6. This is old-fashioned authoritarianism. Collective punishment of millions. Simply because out state and local law enforcement are excersicing their well-established right not to serve as federal immigration agents.

  8. Yes we've got the coronavirus, the Iowa debacle, and a spineless Senate. But on the plus side a beloved bookstore is (re)opening on the Upper West Side!

  11. Approx # of people in U.S. who have died from the Flu virus in past four months: 25,000 # of Americans who have died of coronavirus: 0 So if you are worried about catching a potentially deadly infectious respiratory disease, then why haven't you gotten your Flu shot yet??

  12. This is outrageous and disgusting. We CAN NOT allow fears over to lead to racist targeting of Asian Americans or anyone in this city.

Can’t find the words to express my pain and disgust at seeing Rush Limbaugh receive the nation’s highest honor in the house that my ancestors built. But in their name, I say that this is not the end. We will overcome this hate and live to see a better day. This too shall pass.

  14. For too long we’ve lagged behind the rest of the world when it comes to Paid Family Leave. We know Republicans in DC won’t change anything-so its up to us here in NYC. Instituting 24 weeks of paid family leave in our offices is a good start.

  15. Inspired by the leadership of on paid family leave. If we’re going to end inequality, government must lead. As Manhattan BP I will institute a similar paid family leave policy-its good for parents, good for kids, and good for our city.

  16. "At restaurants in Chinatown in Manhattan, workers and owners said business had dropped 50-70% in the last 10 days." Result of loss of tourists, yes, and also because of fear by NYers--fear that is based on ZERO scientific rationale.

  17. One city. One set of crime stats. Two totally different headlines. The one on the right = accurate The one on the left = cherry picking to fit predetermined narrative.

  18. We still don't know test results for the 3 possible cases in NYC. Why not? Because samples had to be sent to CDC for testing. Would be far better if we had testing capability here in NYC, to eliminate turn-around time. But for that we need CDC's cooperation...

  19. New York City is exhibit A for this painful national trend. Fully 10% of our public schools students are homeless at some point during school year. No one with a heart should look away from this.

  20. Another example of failed MTA maintenance? Nope. It's maintained by a private owner. Rude dose of reality for anyone who thinks the solution to all our infrastructure woes is to outsource.

  21. If you are avoiding Chinese neighborhoods or businesses because of you are either ignorant of the science or just plain racist. Or both.
