Especially, with folks like Hawley and Cruz waiting in the wings, looking to take up the mantle of Trumpism and take it ever further...even after insurrection and invasion of our nation’s capital and leaving a trail of death and destruction.

I just listened to Gov Hogan's description of the deployment of the MD National Guard, and it appears that the military was unable or unwilling to intervene at the Capitol for hours, even though they had been informed of the situation by MD, and legislators at the Capitol.

I recently watched the series Rise of the Nazis on PBS. It was eye-opening to say the least - and how innocently and easy it was for Germany's democracy to disappear.

I thought it was superb. It clarified the role of minor players and made the history very accessible...I understood it as a MAJOR warning.

And, we must not fail to prosecute fully EVERY participant, from the capital police cops that let them in and took selfies, to the elected officials who fanned the flames even as the violence was on, to anyone at DOD or in FBI who was culpable in preventing security forces.

What Trump initiated was very reminiscent on 1930s Germany. Trump, his family, those Republicans who have stood by silently for 4 years, and their supporters need to be dealt with swiftly and harshly otherwise they will continue until they succeed. @SpeakerPelosi @SenSchumer
