My latest in Outside magazine. It's about camping and cooking. Absolutely nothing about politics or Jews, so completely safe for work. Though the lede features my wife asking me, "Are you watching porn?" Wait, what?

The response to ‘You People’ from quite a few Jews here and in a few magazines surprises me. Saying it’s not funny, okay. But calling the satirical comedy antisemitic or saying it “endangers” Jewish lives is absurd. When did we become such snowflakes? Loads of Jews liked it, BTW.

I subscribe to a LOT of newspapers and magazines, but the two I’m getting the most out of these days are, oddly, both British: The and . Both well-written and edited; both liberal, but not woke; both intellectually rigorous but not academic.

Thumbing through Paul McCartney's book, Lyrics, I'm struck again how the story of the Beatles and of Lennon & McCartney is one of the most beautiful narratives of the postwar era. It unfolds like a great novel, step by step, and you feel the powerful myth emerging in real time.

"...the data suggests that Zionists are more antisemitic than anti-Zionists." The data.

In both Europe and the US, the data suggests that Zionists are more antisemitic than anti-Zionists. That might sound crazy. But it's not. Zionism and antisemitism have been partners for a long time. Just ask Theodor Herzl jewishcurrents.org/antisemitic-zi

On the one hand, there is a legitimate point to be made about the effects of defunding local news, but boy oh boy the responses to this Timesman's attempt at an explanation are pretty devastating.

To everyone asking why reporters didn't dig up the George Santos story before the election ... a fair question .... ask yourself when you last paid for your local newspaper, like Newsday on Long Island, which covers it day in and out.
Comedy genius! Artwork quotes Nazi, with illustration that is, at best, confused and incomprehensible. ("The dog represents the Jews," the kid-artist explains!?) Airport spokesperson shrugs, "Hey, we didn't pick it!" And they didn't. Local Jews did, to fight antisemitism!

A grotesque piece of antisemitic "art" is being displayed at the Tampa Airport (@FlyTPA) A Jewish Star of David adorns a leashed dog while swastikas are displayed with "To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize." HOW was this allowed?!

Re: Editorial and Tom Friedman: I too am deeply concerned on religion and state and women's issues, but on the two state solution, the obstacle has only ever been Arab, and especially Palestinian, refusal that one of the two states be Jewish. That is what has to change.
