Speaking from Missouri permitless carry is a nightmare. It makes it so every conflict can become life threatening. My wife and I were literally shot at last year because some jackass (from the county don’t blame STL) was trying to kill his girlfriend in an argument.https://twitter.com/shannonrwatts/status/1353436160467505152 …

Further, *none of them are trained* so you also have the benefit of being shot by negligence. More guns more exposure to risk. People handling their unholstered carry piece shoot other people *all the time* including themselves. I usualy see a half dozen of@these a year.

Permitless carry is the worst of all possible worlds. It arms bullies and idiots, and makes things like standing next to someone fishing around in their purse for their keys a potential life-ender. Enough with this nonsense. Guns are dangerous. They do not make anyone safer.

That's Heinlein's nonsense, and it falls down if you look at (say) 19th-century France. Duels were a tool for the wealthy, who had time to spend on training and equipment, to kill journalists, among others.

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress was an interesting book outside of that nonsense.

An armed society is basically a society wandering around looking for an excuse to use their weapons.

Yes. This is the unmentioned character flaw of those obsessed with conceal carry.
