I have been noticing lately that my pessimism is getting worse.

Not much to be enthusiastic about sadly. Hard to see things looking up for a couple of months at least.

Are you sure that you're not just being pessimistic about your pessimism?

In honor of John Lewis I’m trying to introspect about my pessimism. In some ways it’s protective. My mantra is, always have backup plans. You need some pessimism to think about and plan for how things tend to go sideways. If you have too much, you get nihilistic.

I am clinging tight to my metaphor of these few years as birth: painful, bloody, unglamorous and necessary leading to a new life.
