It’s not an argument for gun control, but it is an argument that pitching guns for home defense or home safety is a reckless and false narrative of the gun industry that makes people behave irresponsibly. People who do not respect that guns are dangerous act accordingly.

Like wrestling a 4-yr-old while carring a piece, obviously with a round chambered and likely safety off. People need to show more respect for these tools. The culture of gun safety that I knew as a child is dead, and the guns for safety narrative is to blame.

This data includes people who commit suicides with a gun. People who don't have a gun can't kill themselves with a gun. Now show how many accidental deaths are caused by guns in the home. Spoiler alert: it's statistically insignificant when compared to other forms of accidental

deaths. Also, accidental deaths by firearm have gone down significantly in the last decade as gun ownership rises. But, yeah, let's strip constitutional rights away from people for their own protection or something.

I concur and it is a point I have been making for years. As well, the “law abiding” gun owner is another myth. So many are anything but.

It was struck down luckily. But it is telling, not only do they sell a false narrative, they want to suppress the true narrative by any means necessary. Their business model depends on people believing a lie - that guns make you safer. Guns do not make you safe.
