I think this also speaks to the songwriting credit arguments that plague bands. How many bands have broke up over such squabbles? Everybody wants a cut. It’s both ego and greed.

This reminds me of when MASH won the Oscar for best screenplay and the screenwriter Ring Lardner said not a word he wrote was in the film. Robert Altman told him the actors could not have improvised so well without the context provided by his screenplay.
