It will make me perfectly happy if Black Panther is nominated for Best Picture and loses to a better movie than Black Panther. That's how awards for excellence work.

It really does seem like what the Academy is worried about is Black Panther getting shut out and there being a big boycott.

Really Mark? This is a sign that they're worried about falling ratings and becoming less relevant when an irrelevant film like Shape of Water wins Best Picture.
Also, I loved Black Panther, but I'd be surprised if it turns out to be one of the 9 or 10 best movies of the year.
