    Mark Ames Retweeted WikiLeaks

Our fearless media watchdogs still maintaining complete blackout on @OPCW whistleblower leaks debunking WMD attack in Douma. The leaks show that Trump—like Dubya— used fake WMDs to bomb Arab country—then strong-armed @OPCW to cover up the lies.https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/1210561455977893893 …

Our media behaving more like co-conspirators suppressing fake WMD story which they were complicit in spreading (and cheering Trump's bombing campaign in response to the fake WMDs)—than like watchdogs defending public from government lies. Hardly the first time, or the last.

Alexander Cockburn's writings age so well: “Loyal and obedient in its function, just as the CIA has been, the US corporate papers behave, in the main and with a few exceptions, like most well-fed and prosperous watchdogs, fast asleep in their kennels, eyes firmly closed" pic.twitter.com/GNugy5k2UC

"Debunking" is a bit strong. I thought this passage is a better characterization. https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/douma-syria-opcw-chemical-weapons-chlorine-gas-video-conspiracy-theory-russia-a8927116.html …pic.twitter.com/mSFGoXmITi

I think “embarrassment” is more than a bit weak characterization when the org used to justify military aggression has been shown to be compromised by those aggressors
