An evening walk to the end of the Molo Audace, the stone pier where Triestini have strolled at sunset for a century, and Trieste has had one of the most glorious centuries in the world. Every time, the crowds are different, the light on the molo changes...

Once again, tells an urgent, vital story about Ukraine you won't find anywhere else in int'l media: a bill too extreme to pass before the war is now being rushed through and will remove most urban planning and historic protection. ⬇️

This is the magnificent indoor pool built in Soviet Georgia in 1965 for the working class, and now it's a super expensive fitness club made inaccessible for the working class. It's now also teeming with wealthy Russian liberals fleeing Russia, as well as wealthy Georgians.

This clip showing members of the Azov battalion dancing together with Jews in Israel is currently completely making Z-Russians going ballistic, making them to release the crudest Anti-Semitic tirades. Well, another Russian lie (fighting Nazis) exposed. #Ukraine #Israel

We also discuss Tigray, again. At least 600,000 killed there, and yet hardly a peep from the famous humanitarians in Washington and London.

Can't help feeling like these stories have been delayed, and released now as proof that "We DID cover Tigray!" For me, the image of the year was something we saw last winter in Toronto: Streets full of people waving Ukrainian flags... theguardian.com/commentisfree/

Reading Adam Hochschild's American Midnight, about the US from 1917-1921, gives you that queasy, gloomy feeling that it's no use. Virtue will always be upheld, in remarkably cruel ways which will be quickly forgotten...

New Radio — great talk with about the brutal early years of America's overseas empire, told through one of the Empire's top hitmen, US Marines Gen Smedley Butler, who later blew the whistle on the Business Plot against FDR.

It's astounding what the Turkish state gets away with—routinely murdering & kidnapping opponents around the world, including in fellow NATO countries, with no consequences. Total immunity is one of the big perks with membership in Washington-led cartel.

So the shooting at a Kurdish center in Paris was done by an old white xenophobe. This is his third anti-foreigner attack in the last couple of years, but somehow he was free to try again. france24.com/en/france/2022
