UPDATE: I've been informed that even though my insurer's site says the hospital is in network, it is not, though they do 'contract' with my insurer, meaning they pay 85%, a number arrived at by an accountant with a seven-sided die who's seen three seasons of 'House'

Once again, an example of how private insurance acts as a barrier to care; many people can't take the time to what you did, so they just give up. I don't know when, exactly, the balance of power went over to the insurance industry, but it's long past time for that to change.
