Kirby and Yoshi really need to make that 3D leap!
The original concept for Yoshi's Crafted World included a 3D overworld consisting of a giant kindergarten and its grounds, with the individual levels being craft exhibits found in its rooms and outdoor areas. In the finished game, this was dropped in favor of a world map.pic.twitter.com/1MKIURiAYY

World maps are Nintendo’s absolute most painful crutch because every time they avoid them the game gets better

Absolutely. The 2D side scroller Mario games can have a world map, but it seems like everything connected to the Mario-verse is given a world map nowadays. Paper Mario being the worst offender in my opinion (looks like the new one may ditch the world map
)

This would be better than the world map, but I think that being a kindergarten doesn't have a lot of sense, if it was a normal map but with the detail of being every level a craft of itself it would have been a better map.

Man. This would have been great. I always felt like it would have been better if there was more of a sense of whoever was playing with the yoshi doll, maybe he/she could be a part of the storyin a big way. It had such a great chance to be meaningful.
