A whalefish?!? 🐋🐟 Originally described as resembling baleen whales, these fish are incredibly rare. We have very few images of species in the family Cetomimidae, but we were lucky enough to capture this spectacular footage this year!

One of the benefits of our new manuscript tracking system is that Copeia will have double blind review where the authors will also be anonymous to reviewers. To make this possible, authors will need to upload the title page & acknowledgments separately from the manuscript file.

Copeia will be changing its manuscript submission system at the end of 2019. During this transition, authors, reviewers & editors will not be able to submit, review, or edit manuscripts. We anticipate the system being down from 26 Dec to 3 Jan. We apologize for the inconvenience!

I think it is with Parotocinclus adamanteus that the Loricariidae (suckermouth armored catfishes or plecos) hits 1000 valid species! Congrats to Pereira, Santos, de Pinna, and Reis on their publication in Copeia () for the win!

With the online publication of the Hickory Nut Gorge Green Salamander today on BioOne, Copeia published its 18th new species of the year. We could not be happier that authors published species descriptions of such a wide range of ichs & herps this year!

It is Monday, so it is time to continue our promotion of our most downloaded papers of this millennium. We pick up with Drs. Smith and Craig's study, which was one of the first papers to begin the long unraveling of the percomorph problem!

Odgovor korisnicima i sljedećem broju korisnika:

There is always a lot of variation in review time, but the data are clear that the average Copeia paper is being processed much faster. You can see the per article variation in this graph from our JMIH poster. That being said, I hope you get your decision back faster next time.
