And this shouldn’t be surprising: if you believe in patriarchy, it would make sense that more girls would unconsciously want to be boys - that this would be an element of the cause of the dysphoria for some which should suggest alternate treatment approaches as opposed to SRS.

Want to get really crazy - consider Freud’s theory of penis envy - not proscriptively but diagnostically. Young girls trying to figure out why the hell they were being treated differently than their males peers: asking what does he have that I don’t? It’s a similar narrative...

Very sad indeed...who in their right mind would want to be averse to their own bodies... Sex and gender must be studied further by the sciences and in the meantime more compassion for children searching for themselves.
