  1. Interesting report on negative emissions in California. The majority of the negative emissions will come from waste biomass conversion to hydrogen with CO2 capture & storage:

It's not all going into direct air capture startups, but even a major fraction of this would be one of the biggest infusions into the nascent (and needed) sector to date:

Interessant, maar een gemiste kans dat in de 143 blz alleen maar over zon en wind wordt gepraat. De volgende woorden komen niet voor in het document: biomassa, waterstof, CCS (of afvang en opslag). Kerncentrale wel maar alleen in de context van lokale overlast.

Emission reductions in USA are also due (mainly) to replacing coal with natural gas; gas power is needed for reliability (says Xcel): Utilities Have Big Plans to Cut Emissions, But They’re Struggling to Shed Fossil Fuels

Interesting but worrying theory: Big Oil has to be made a 'pariah industry' before politicians will feel the need to act (on climate change, fossil fuels):

The big question: why is carbon pricing still such difficult step to take for politicians when such a broad group of stakeholders supports it?
