*technically*there is a theoretical limit,but the smallest estimate is something like 20 Billion, not 8, and that's assuming we still have a lot of meat in our diets. if we only ate plants, it'd be way higher, and the problem isn't size, it's capitalism poor resource distribution

I mean the problem is also the amount of people. Yes, with the resources we currently use no one would have to be hungry or poor, but we're still using too many resources for the earth to be sustainable and we're destroying nature

I see overpopulation touted as an absolute fact in a lot of childfree spaces and it's frustrating as hell There's lots of reasons to not have kids, including the impending climate apocalypse- no need to bring up pseudoscience and myth
